CEBU, Philippines - At least P200,000 worth of valuables and cash were stolen from a man and a woman in two separate incidents in Talisay City Wednesday and yesterday dawn.
The first incident occurred Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. in sitio Kimba, barangay San Roque, at the house of one Edwin Cabase, 42.
Cabase said he lost one HP laptop worth P20,000, P20,000, power tools (P25,000), an amplifier (P7,000) and a DVD player worth P7,000.
The police said evidence shows the front door was forcibly opened.
The second incident happened at 3 a.m. yesterday at the house of Mary Ann Arpon, 28, of Plantor Apartment, Fortune Plain Subdivision, barangay Cansojong.
Arpon told police that she noticed two people getting inside her house but was afraid to do anything, considering that she was pregnant.
Arpon, however, remembered the faces of the two men.
She positively identified Robert “Tukob” Villeta Jr., 20, and Gerry “Bukol” Ragudos, 20, her neighbors, as the suspects.
A team led by SPO4 Daniel Tarucan arrested the two men but the police have yet to recover the things stolen.
Arpon said the two men got her HP laptop worth P36,000, an Ipod valued at P25,000, a Galaxy S2 Samsung cellular phone worth P30,000, a Sonny video camera worth P15,000, and a wallet containing her identification cards, ATM cards, and P800.
Police said Villeta and Ragudos climbed to the terrace of Arpon’s house to gain entry into the main building.
