Construction worker falls from 2nd floor

CEBU, Philippines - A construction worker who fell 30 feet from the second floor of a building being constructed in Lapu-Lapu City was in critical condition when taken to hospital yesterday.

Rufino Paden, 45, a native of barangay Balungag, San Fernando, Cebu and fellow workers were manning the cement mixer at the second floor when he suddenly fell.

Paden knocked off the support railings as he fell before he hit the ground.

Blood was coming out of his mouth when ERUF paramedics took him to Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.

Paden and fellow workers allegedly were not wearing safety gadgets or harness at the time of the accident.
