Street party in Lapu-Lapu

CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City government will hold “Kadaugan Street Party Celebration” on April 27 and 28 at the M.L. Quezon National Highway after the city marks “Kadaugan sa Mactan.”

“Kadaugan,” now on its second year, will feature two whole days of non-stop fun, games, sports, live bands, food, and drinks. Organizers expect this year’s celebration to surpass last year’s.

About 60,000 people are anticipated to fill up the whole stretch of M.L Quezon National Highway.

The two bridges linking the city with Mandaue City will be closed for two days.

On April 27, food stations will be put up on the roadside and booths that will sell clothes, bags, shoes, and accessories will also be set up.

The ALA Amateur Boxing will present fights on the same date. Dance groups are expected to compete in the “Let’s Share TV Wet’s T-Shirt Party.”

The night will end with a midnight Beer Run 3k and 6k. On April 28, Rampada, the most awaited event of the celebration ,will feature beautiful ladies in a parade. “Kadaugan” will end with spectacular fireworks. - THE FREEMAN
