CEBU, Philippines - Chief Insp. Alvin Balio is now the officer-in-charge of the Cordova Police Station replacing former police chief Sr. Insp. Noli Cernio.
The order took effect last March 5 but Balio only assumed office yesterday after he received the order last Tuesday.
Cernio will now be assigned at the Regional Personnel and Human Resources and Development Division.
He was reportedly included in a minor revamp made by the regional headquarters as part of the performance enhancement program.
Calls made to Cernio for comment were not returned.
Balio’s primary focus is to curb crimes involving children in conflict with the law.
“Sa akong assessment man gud, mao ni ang nakapataas sa crime rate diri (Cordova) but in totality dili kaayo gyud ingon taas ang crime rate,” he said.
He said policies set by the provincial headquarters should be strictly implemented.
Balio was once the police chief in Bogo City before he was transferred to Danao City.
Just recently he became the chief of the Provincial Crime Scene Investigation.
The new chief of the CSI is Insp. Allan Cuizon. - THE FREEMAN
