CEBU, Philippines - Acting Lapu-Lapu City Police Chief. Senior Superintendent Roy Lyndon Lawas said more tourist policemen have been sent to the city.
Speaking during the regular press conference at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall, Lawas said the Police Regional Office-7 had ordered the deployment of an additional 29 organic policemen specifically trained to protect tourists and six other augmentation personnel.
Lawas said policemen have been posted in barangays Punta Engano, Mactan, Maribago, Marigondon, and Subas Basbas where beach resorts and hotels are located.
Lawas said a tourist police assistance center has been put up at sitio Buyong in barangay Maribago. (FREEMAN)
