Businessman to try luck in Talisay politics again
CEBU, Philippines - A Talisay City businessman who earlier vowed not to run again in any election after losing a number of times previously will run again in the 2013 elections, saying there is yet a lot of anomalies to be exposed in the city government.
“Modagan kog konsehal kay daghan pang butang ang buot nakong mautingkay diha sa city hall,” said Johnny V. Delos Reyes.
Delos Reyes or “JVR” owns canker sore drops.
Delos Reyes said he will expose things when he sits in the city council.
He also admitted he will run under the Liberal Party banner, alongside incumbent Councilors Danny Caballero, Val Ylanan, and Romeo Villarante.
His chances of winning this time?
Delos Reyes said he will not campaign for himself but will urge the people in every barangay to do it for him.
“Win or lose, that’s up to the people. Kung madaug, maayo, kung dili, daghang salamat,” he said.
Delos Reyes ran for provincial board member in the May 10, 2010 elections under the Liberal Party — he lost as he did in 2007 when he ran for mayor in Talisay.
Delos Reyes also tried to vie twice for councilor and for vice mayor in the past elections and again failed. - THE FREEMAN
