Motorcycle thief falls

CEBU, Philippines - A man notorious for stealing motorcycles was finally arrested Monday evening in barangay Looc, Danao City where he resides with his live-in partner.

Nick Otero, 28, of barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marilyn Lagura-Yap of RTC branch 28.

The warrant was served by a team led by P/Supt. Jason Capoy, deputy city Police director of the Mandaue City Police Office.

Theft and Robbery Section Chief P/Insp. Ramil Morpos said Otero and his younger brother, Marvin are being accused of stealing a neighbor’s motorcycle in 2010.

Marvin was arrested but Nick escaped.

Morpos said the police will go over all cases that involve the Otero brothers.

He said the brothers stole any parked motorcycle they saw.

The older Otero is now detained at the Mandaue  City jail. - THE FREEMAN
