Unauthorized drainage connections discovered

CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City Engineering Office has stumbled upon illegal connections to the drainage system along the Mayor Maximo V. Patalinghug Avenue in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City during an ocular inspection.

Lapu-Lapu City Engineer Allan Pedrigal said residences that wish to connect to the drainage system would need permits from the city.

“Dunay mga iligal nga connection dinhi sa may Maximo Patalinghug nga dunay mga walay permit, musumpay lang sa ilang mga drainage. Mangayo silag permit unya panguntan-on man namo kung unsay ilang ilabay before sila maka-connect,” Pedrigal said.

Pedrigal said barangays Basak, Poblacion, Pajo, and Gun-ob experience flooding partly because of illegal connections.
