Concreting project, dilapidated roads cause traffic in Lapu-Lapu

- Jose P. Sollano -

CEBU, Philippines - The unfinished concreting project of the Mayor Maximo V. Patalinghug Avenue which stretches from the foot of the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge up to barangay Marigondon is suspected of being responsible for the traffic build up in the area.

The city council, after receiving a number of complaints from motorists, has requested the Department of Public Works and Highways and the contractor to spell out the project’s agenda.

The traffic jam extends to barangay Basak where a mall opened last year.

DPWH officials told the city council that the rains also contributed to the delay of the project’s completion.

The FREEMAN learned that dilapidated roads in barangay Agus and the unfinished concreting project cause the traffic problem in the area. (FREEMAN)
