Olango, neighboring islets need medical equipment

CEBU, Philippines - A Lapu-Lapu City councilor yesterday said health centers in Olango and other neighboring islets are in need of medical equipment and supplies.

Councilor Alexander Gestopa, Jr., a district councilor assigned in Olango Island, said he will appeal to Mayor Paz Radaza next year regarding the matter.

Gestopa, a practicing physician, said these island barangays need two Sphygmomanometers, four stethoscopes, a weighing scale with a device to measure height, two sets of nebulizers, six digital thermometers, two glucometers with strips, and other miscellaneous supplies.

He said day care workers if equipped with these devices can attend to patients that need immediate medical attention prior to being sent to hospitals in the mainland. – (FREEMAN)
