Security guard held for "pointing" gun at two men
CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a security guard for allegedly pointing his service a shotgun at two men in barangay Linao, Talisay City Tuesday night.
Police identified the security guard as Rolando Pejo, 45, a resident of barangay Mohon of Talisay.
Police said they received a report from barangay tanod Domingo Poncadas about an armed person loitering in the premises of SMI Warehouse.
PO1 Jued Enemecio, PO1 Cleo Ali Luntao, PO1 Sydney Alisoso, and PO1 Jupet Belleta, who responded to the alarm, saw Pejo pointing a shotgun at Benjie Sugarol, 28, and Rickson Cabusas, 29, and arrested and him.
PO2 Roy Lofranco said the security guard was allegedly drunk and must have just pointed his service firearm at the men for no reason at all.
Lofranco said Pejo’s supervisor showed them a license from the Firearms, Explosives, Security Agencies and Guards Section (FESAGS) for the gun, but they have yet to check if the security has also been issued a “permit to carry.”
Pejo is now detained at the Talisay City detention cell pending the filing of criminal charges against him. – (FREEMAN)
