Three arrested for "shabu" possession
CEBU, Philippines - Three men reportedly who were about to sniff shabu were arrested by police during a saturation drive in barangay San Roque, Talisay City the other day.
Arrested were Jabar Salazar, 28; Rafy Padin, 27, both are from barangay Kinasang-an, Pardo, Cebu City; and Feliciano Bucao, 45, a resident of San Roque, Talisay.
Prior to their arrest, police received information from a concerned citizen who reported the rampant use and trading of illegal drugs in the area.
Inspector Hugo Rio Ipong, PO2 Roy Lofranco, and PO1 Euwen Pitogo immediately went to San Roque to verify the information.
Lofranco said they were outside the house of Bucao, of which door was slightly ajar, and saw the suspects preparing to sniff shabu.
Seized from the men were drug paraphernalia and three emptied shabu plastic packets. The men are now detained at the police station pending the filing of charges against them.
The Talisay City Police Station, for the last months, has strengthened its campaign against the use and trade of illegal drugs being one of the perennial crimes in the city.
Late last month, a 19-year-old woman was arrested in barangay Tanke, casually arranging small packets containing alleged shabu along the road.
The previous day, four individuals were arrested while sniffing shabu in barangay San Isidro. (FREEMAN)
