Freeman Metro Cebu

Team to make sure market is accessible

- Flor Z. Perolina -

CEBU, Philippines - To allay fears of vendors who will transfer to a newly built public market on Dec. 18, Mandaue City’s Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team) director Edwin Ermac said he will endorse to the traffic board a proposal that will allow jeepneys to pass by the new market.

On top of this, the city government will provided free rides on electric cars to anyone who will go to the market.

He said all passenger jeepneys that pass the Reclamation Area will include the market in their route before proceeding to Cebu City and again in their return trips.

Ermac said passenger jeepneys from Lapu-Lapu and Danao cities will pass through by the market before proceeding to the Reclamation Area on their way to Cebu City.

Passenger jeepneys from Cebu City bound for barangay Looc in Mandaue bearing the number 21A will pass through Colonade Mall in barangay Mantuyong, right turn to International Bar Complex, turn right to Ouano Ave., then to Seno Street, and then to the new market before proceeding to barangay Looc.

With this development, Ermac said he will ask the city council next week to conduct a dry run with regard to jeepneys going to the new market.  (FREEMAN)
