Girl, 15, claims uncle raped her

CEBU, Philippines - A 15-year-old girl in Talisay City has accused an uncle of raping her since she was seven.

The Talisay City Police Station’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk said the abuses started when the child was seven years old and the last rape was committed last November 19.

The girl was left by her parents to the care of an uncle since she was an infant.

She said she tried to keep the abuses under wraps until she joined a local youth group where she revealed her sad experiences with her uncle.

The group’s leader accompanied her to the Talisay police station where she narrated how his uncle would bring her to a friend’s house to be raped or was raped at home whenever her uncle’s common-law wife was out of the house.

She claimed she was raped thrice a week.

The girl is now under the custody of the City Social welfare office. (FREEMAN)
