CEBU, Philippines - Technical and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) director general Joel Villanueva yesterday lauded the top officials of the Mandaue City-based Global Power Skills Development Center, Inc. for the success of the implementation of the Training for Work Scholarship Program.
Speaking before the more than 200 TWSP scholars of TESDA, Villanueva said Global Power Skills Development Center, Inc. through its founder and president Glenn Anthony Soco has a big contribution of the success of the program in Cebu.
Villanueva said the partnership of TESDA and Global Power Skills Development Center, Inc. shows the importance of the public and private partnership in the implementation of the program of the government.
Villanueva said TESDA initiated the program which aims to provide support to those who cannot afford to pursue a college education.
The TESDA chief said the program provides proper skills and training so that everyone can find work.
Soco, on the other hand, told Villanueva that 70 percent of last year’s graduates under the TWSP program were hired.
Soco said all the students under Global funded by TWSP of TESDA were properly screened.
