3 people in Talisay robbed
CEBU, Philippines - Three people in Talisay City were robbed Monday and dawn the other day in separate instances of cash and valuables totaling at least P1 million.
Janice Canono Alhabbas, 26, lost Monday cash and valuables inside a barbershop in barangay Tabunok at 8:30 p.m.
Alhabbas told police her foreigner husband lost his bag while having his hair cut.
The bag reportedly contained P300,000, 6,000 Lebanese pounds, a Samsung cellphone worth P6,000, a Cherry mobile phone worth P12,000, a P13,000-Seiko divers watch, two passports, a camera worth P2,000, 10 identification cards, a credit card, two jackets, and other documents.
Wevina Silva, 54, a resident of Camella Homes, barangay Lawaan I, told police her house was burgled last Monday and has identified the alleged thief as one “Berto,” who allegedly resides in the nearby village Maghaway.
Berto allegedly took from the Silvas a Lenovo laptop worth P70,000, pieces of jewelry worth P100,000, a Samsung cellphone, a DVD writer worth P15,000 and other things.
The police said there was forced entry.
In Greenville Subdivision, barangay San Isidro, Norwegian national Edgar Nerland, 21, told police he lost the other day an Asus laptop worth P300,000 and a Samsung cellphone P5,000.
He said he forgot to lock the main door before he went to sleep.
The robbery must have taken place at around 3 a.m., he said. - THE FREEMAN
