Widening Albano St. seen to free traffic in AS Fortuna

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government will soon widen Albano Street in barangay Maguikay into a four-lane thoroughfare in anticipation of the opening of two malls in the area.

Albano Street leads to A. S. Fortuna Street and M. L. Quezon Street in barangay Maguikay.

J Centre Mall, located at the corners of Albano and A. S. Fortuna will open this month while the SM Hypermart at barangay Maguikay will open next month.

City Plannning officer Arch. Florentino Nimor said Albano will decongest traffic along A. S. Fortuna and M. C. Briones Highway.

A sketch shows the width of the road at 10 meters, the sidewalks at one meter each.

Once the City Engineer's Office completes the program of works and estimates (POWE) for the project, the widening will start.

Earlier, Mayor Jonas Cortes met with residents that will be affected by the widening and appealed to them not to only think about themselves but for the betterment of the city.
