Mandaue to hire more employees
CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government is considering hiring more employees next year for its personnel services.
City Administrator James Abadia earlier said this is the reason why personnel services constitutes a big bulk in the proposed 2012 annual budget
The proposed P1.6 billion annual budget for 2011 allots P243,375,004.19 for personnel services.
Abadia said the city government has to hire more lawyers as it was found out that Mandaue City is the only city with few lawyers.
He said records would show there has been no plantilla for legal officers in the city, the only plantilla for lawyers is reserved for the city legal officer and assistant legal officer.
The city government will also create the Community Environment Natural Resources Office (CENRO) which will have three divisions.
He said an ordinance for its creation was already approved by the city council and is now being endorsed for review by the Civil Service Commission-7.
The city will also be hiring more garbage truck drivers and additional traffic enforcers now that there are at least six big establishments that will open in the city before the year ends and the traffic congestion in these areas are being anticipated.
The city government is also set to activate its Management Information Service Office and additional personnel are needed. - THE FREEMAN
