Mandaue City council oks SB No. 2 on first reading
CEBU, Philippines - The executive department of the Mandaue City government has endorsed to the legislative department Supplemental Budget No. 2 amounting of P107,551,661, which will be used to fund development projects, pay electric bills, salary differentials, and overtime pay of personnel from at least three offices of the city government.
The supplemental budget, authored by city Councilor Beethoven Andaya was approved on first reading Wednesday by the city council and is now under review by the committee on budget, finance and appropriation, which Andaya also heads.
This budget is sourced from the general fund with a total amount of P57,656,611, market's special accounts worth P5 million, and the 20 percent development fund worth P44,895,000, totaling P107,551,661.
Some of the budgetary items in the budget under the general fund includes the drainage improvement along the national highway in barangay Maguikay with an allocation of P13.1 million, drainage installation along Jayme Street in barangay Paknaan worth P14.6 million, purchase of an ambulance for the city hospital worth P1.2 million, electricity expenses P14.5 million, overtime fees of personnel at the City Engineer's Office worth P500,000, overtime fees of personnel at the city veterinary office at P290,000, and slaughterhouse personnel overtime fee at P170,000.
The market's special account of P5 million will be used for the insurance expenses of the new public market which will become operational next month.
The city's 20% Development Fund will be used to purchase a payloader worth P23 million, drainage improvement from Hermag Village to a creek at Consuelo Villa in barangay Basak worth P16.1 million, and the construction or rehabilitation of road and bridges at P5.7 million. - THE FREEMAN
