CEBU, Philippines - Four men were arrested in two separate incidents for possession of marijuana and shabu.

The Opao police station led by station chief P/Insp. Wilson Abot arrested three men while sniffing shabu in Purok Tambis in barangay Umapad, Mandaue City Wednesday evening.

Arrested were tricycle driver Norberto dela Cruz, 37, married, of sitio Kalubihan, barangay Opao, Gerson Naparate, 47, married, jobless, and Perdo Digal, 49, both of barangay Tambis.

Abot in an interview said he and his men were patrolling when they saw the men drinking and smoking marijuana while on a parked tricycle at around 8:40 Wednesday.

Charges are being readied against the men who are being detained.

On the other hand, a man was arrested for allegedly threatening another man in sitio Nangka in barangay Ibabao, and when frisked, the police found a stick of marijuana in his person.

Based on the police report, a certain Joselito Seno, 47 years old, had sought assistance from tanods of barangay Ibabao claiming that a certain Jerry Tarona had gone to the place where he was playing mahjong and threatened him by allegedly saying "Karon lang ka, balikan tika."

Seno said Tarona frightened him.

A team of barangay Ibabao tanods led by Arnold Carwana then rushed to the place and waited for Tarona to arrive.

When Tarona came back and began looking for Seno, the tanods immediately frisked him and found marijuana in his possession.

Tarona was arrested and detained at the Centro police station 1 pending the filing of an Illegal drug case against him.
