CEBU, Philippines - Five universities in Cebu, the Southern Partners and Fair Trade Center, and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) will sponsor "Run for Green Life and for the Bar 2011" on October 16.

Five speakers from law schools University of Cebu (UCLASS), University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF Lex Circle), University of San Carlos (USC Lex Circle), University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR Central Bar Operations Team) and Southwestern University (SWU Society of Law) aim to promote green life and to support the bar examiners of 2011.

Regal Oliva, the president of USC Lex Circle, said this would be the first time five universities in Cebu would be together in an activity.

Oliva said the activity would raise funds to help some bar examiners.

He said the activity would also promote the green life.

The speakers from five universities sought for help to achieve their goals of promoting awareness of their advocacies and to extend support to the Cebu Network of Law Students.

"We will solicit the support to our causes to be highlighted during the Run for Green Life and for The Bar 2011. We will make the event an educative venue. We expect a maximum of 1,000 runners," the speakers said.

The president of USPF Lex Circle Rosemarie Patiño said the venue for the bar examination will be held at University Santo Tomas as recommended by the Supreme Court.

She said since the venue will be at UST, they need money for the accommodation and transportation of the bar examiners and help the law schools shoulder the expenses.
