City hall worker found dead

CEBU, Philippines - An employee of the Department of General Services of the Mandaue City hall was found dead in a swampy area in sitio Compang in barangay Labogon, Mandaue City at around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Arnulfo Sabornido, 64, married, of sitio Law-o in barangay Basak, Mandaue City was found already lifeless by a certain Danilo Saguhan yesterday afternoon.

The police said no foul play was involved in the death, speculating that Sabornido could have suffered from hypertension and drowned.

Basak police chief P/Insp. Stephen Amamag-id said the man reportedly went out last Sunday afternoon to forage for seashells and had been out of the house for the past two days.

The family failed to inform the police about his absence.

"Maong wa maka-report nga na- missing na kay amo sad diay nahibaw-an nga naa diay diperensya sa pangisip iyang pamilya," Amamag-id said.

Sabornido had suffered from hypertension previously while looking for seashells in the area.
