Towns want info on status of road widening plan

CEBU, Philippines - Officials of Liloan and Consolacion want the Department of Public Works and Highways to brief them on the status of the widening of Cebu North Coastal Road.

Liloan town Mayor Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco told The FREEMAN the town cannot hasten the implementation of its clean and green program because it has not been informed about the status of the road widening project.

Frasco said some barangay captains cannot fully implement the clean and green program because of the unfinished road widening project.

Frasco said the town government plans to put up street lights.

He hopes officials of the DPWH will keep the town informed about the project.

For her part, Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado said she wants to know what's going on.

"Daghan kaayo ang nangutana kon unsa na ang dagan karon sa pagpatuman sa proyekto, mao nga kinahanglan gayud ato sila nga mapahibawo," Alegado said.
