GSIS installs wireless automated processing system at Mandaue CH

- Flor Z. Perolina -

CEBU, Philippines - Regular employees of Mandaue City hall can now avail an automated transaction from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Just this week, the government's insurance company has installed a GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (G-WAPS) kiosk at the lower ground of the city hall.

Instead of going to the GSIS office and queuing at the membership assistance counter, employees who have with them their Unified Multi-purpose ID system or the E-CARD Plus can just go directly to the kiosk to withdraw his loan or check for basic information as a government employee or check what kind of loan service an employee can still avail.

Other transactions such as knowing the employees creditable services and a loan service records can also be done.

Pensioners can also use the machine for the same purpose.

Lawyer Mercedes Victoria Enriquez , assistant regional vice president of GSIS supervised its installation last Tuesday while Mayor Jonas Cortes who had just received his UMID Card was the first to test wireless transaction by inserting his card and upgrading some of his personal information.

The machine, powered by Globe and directly connected to the GSIS office, is functional during office hours up to 6 pm including Sundays.

"This is in line with our new vision of rebuilding the GSIS as the premiere pension fund institution and as a world-class center for member service and our new mission to regain the trust and confidence of our stakeholders by promoting fully-automated and member-focused organization," Enriquez said. - THE FREEMAN
