Vice governor's medical mission goes to Mandaue
CEBU, Philippines - Five barangays in Mandaue City availed of free medical and dental mission, mass feeding program, and Halad sa mga Senior Citizens at the Opao Gymnasium in barangay Opao yesterday.
The activity, spearheaded by Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, benefited over 3,000 adults and children of five barangays.
City councilor Emmarie "Lolypop" Ouano-Dizon, in an interview said Magpale's project was first initiated in Camotes island months ago.
However, PB Thadeo Ouano had requested the vice governor to also bring it to Mandaue City so that his constituents could avail of her project which involves the office of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, sixth district Representative Luigi Quisumbing, the Mandaue Host Lions Club, and the Philippine Navy.
Ouano-Dizon said that 1,300 adults and children benefited from the medical mission while 250 from the dental mission (teeth extraction).
The Philippine Navy served 2,000 adults and children in the mass feeding program.
PB Ouano has assisted the vice governor distribute medicine while Governor Garcia distributed slippers, milk, and eyeglasses to senior citizens as part of "Halad ni Lolo ug Lola" program.
The Mandaue Host Lions Club distributed biscuits and juices while Quisumbing's staff distributed milk to the children.
Governor's daughter, lawyer Cristina Codilla-Frasco, also extended assistance. (FREEMAN)
