MANILA, Philippines - The municipal government of Cordova and beneficiaries of a housing project will formulate an agreement that would allow the town to get back the P3 million it had spent to develop the project site in barangay Poblacion for a non-governmental organization.
The municipal council has authorized Mayor Adelino Sitoy to sign on behalf of the municipality of Cordova.
Cordova implemented the Cordova Socialized Housing Program in year 2002 in partnership with Justice, Peace, Integrity of Creation (JPIC).
The agreement states the town shall allocate and develop the project site, while the JPIC shall finance the construction of the housing units.
Cordova developed the more or less 8,519-square meter site in sitio Camolinas in barangay Poblacion.
The JPIC has already constructed 56 housing units, while the remaining 28 units will soon be finished. — THE FREEMAN
