CEBU, Philippines - The Aboitiz Foundation, through Sonny Carpio, executive-vice president and managing trustee of the foundation, and the municipal government of Liloan, led by Mayor Vincent Franco "Kuke" Frasco, recently turned over a newly constructed two-story building to the St. Vincent Neighborhood Multi-Purpose Cooperative in barangay San Vicente in Liloan town.
The turnover was made after the building's inauguration.
Carpio said the foundation is currently supporting the cooperative because of its outstanding track record.
Carpio said the foundation has also extended a loan package to the cooperative for its swine business program. The loan is part of the foundation's Enterprise Development Micro-Finance program, he said.
For his part, Frasco said it is the first time for a cooperative in the town to have its own building.
He assured full support to the cooperative and other existing cooperatives in Liloan.
The municipal government had also spent for the construction of the building.
Rogelio Santianez, chairman and founder of the cooperative, expressed his thanks to the Aboitiz Foundation and Mayor Frasco for the support.
