CEBU, Philippines - While waiting for a taxi outside a subdivision in Lapu-Lapu City, a female Korean national was stabbed by a man who tried to rob her.
A certain Aeri Lee, 24, reportedly fought with a lone robber outside Pacific Grand Villa subdivision in Suba Panas, barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City on Tuesday night.
Lee, who was with another unidentified Korean, went out from the subdivision at around 7:00 p.m.
The two Koreans reportedly were waiting for a taxi for few minutes beside the road when an unidentified man approached them.
The man allegedly took out a sharp pointed object and declared a holdup by asking for the two women’s bags.
Lee reportedly hit the robber with her long umbrella while shouting for help.
The robber reportedly panicked and stabbed the victim once on the left shoulder. The assailant immediately fled the area on foot without his loot The bloodied victim was taken to Mactan Doctors Hospital by her companion and by bystanders. Lee however is out of danger.
Police said tourists are advised to be always aware of their surroundings. –(FREEMAN)
