- Flor Z. Perolina -

CEBU, Philippines - An overheated electric fan set off a fire that gobbled up two houses and a two-door apartment at 1:21 a.m. yesterday in Upper Tabok, Mandaue City.

Investigator SFO2 Roy Garcia of the Mandaue City fire department said the fire started in the living room of the house owned by Rosalinda Cabahug but was rented out to Lyndon Enero.

Enero's wife sprained an ankle after jumping out of a window.

The fire spread to an adjacent apartment owned by Petronillo Suico but rented out to Mae Gonzaga.

A nearby convenience store was spared.

Damage to property was pegged at P200,000. — THE FREEMAN
