CEBU, Philippines - Two alleged members of the Akrho fraternity were arrested for aiming a gun at and beating two students of the St. Paul's College in barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City Wednesday afternoon.
The suspects were identified as Rolando Cortes, 21, and a 16-year-old boy, both residents of the place, while the victims were two juveniles aged 14 and 16 years old.
A concerned citizen hailed a passing police patrol car to report about a crime being committed.
SPO1 Dindo Montesclaros of the Subangdaku police station said a .22 caliber revolver with four bullets and four marijuana sticks were seized from Cortes.
Both suspects are detained at the Subangdaku police station while cases of illegal possession of firearm, possession of illegal drugs, and physical injuries will be filed against Cortes and the boy.
Montesclaros also confirmed reports that bystanders in the area extort money from students of the school. — THE FREEMAN
