Fire destroys plastic factory in Mandaue

CEBU, Philippines - A fire hit a plastic factory located inside the Shemberg compound along Jayme Street in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City yesterday morning.

Employees were having a break when fire started at 9:55 yesterday morning at one of the sections of the Tomorrow Plastic Industry.

The fire did not spread to nearby establishments of the Shemberg Corporation.

Fire investigators, who are yet to determine the cause of the fire, placed damage to property at half a million pesos.

However, Frank Yap one of the owners of the company said the fire also destroyed three machines which are used for making straw ropes and each of them cost almost P2 million each.
