Speaker Belmonte appoints Luigi as his rep to appropriations board

CEBU, Philippines -   Sixth district Rep. Luis "Gabriel Quisumbing has been appointed by House Speaker Sonny Belmonte as his representative to the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations.

    The house committee started its deliberation of the P1.816 trillion 2012 budget early last week.

    Quisumbing said he has been attending the briefings where departments have presented their 2012 budget proposals.

    Among the government agencies that have presented their budget proposals are the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Department of Justice, Department of Health, and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

    Quisumbing thanked Belmonte for his trust and confidence in him.

"The work of the committee on Appropriations, particularly during the national budget deliberations, is very important," Quisumbing in a press statement said.
