Physically challenged man, 56, found dead

-

CEBU, Philippines - A 56-year-old paralyzed man was found dead inside his house in a subdivision in barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City.

Police found the body of Willy Uy inside the bathroom and theorized that he could have died from cardiac arrest.

Inspector Hugo Rio Ipong of the Talisay City Police Station said that

except for Niza Empleo, his friend who owns a house nearby, Uy has no

relatives in Cebu.

Ipong said Uy had a previous heart attack hence his paralysis. He

could still walk around despite his condition.

Empleo said Uy was a regular customer in her eatery in Cebu City

the reason why she was surprised when the man had not shown up since

Monday.

She said she called him in his mobile phone but when he did not take any of her calls, she decided to pay him a visit.

At 2:30p.m. of Tuesday she arrived at Uy’s house and was surprised to see that all lights were still on and the windows open.

Empleo then called up the police for assistance.

The responding team composed of PO3 Jude Enemecio and PO2 Antonio Asoy forced their way into Uy’s house and in the bathroom they saw him in a sitting position already stiff and cold.

Ipong believed that Uy died of cardiac arrest and since he lived alone in the house no one could have heard him when he called for help.

Uy’s body will be autopsied to find out the true cause of his death. – (FREEMAN)
