Paz dead serious about protection of environment

CEBU, Philippines - The implementation of environmental laws in Lapu-Lapu City promises to create a stir.

 "I will spare no one in the implementation of environmental laws," Mayor Paz Radaza said.

 "Naay pipila ka mga barangay kapitan nga na-isyuhan na og citation ticket ug nakamulta tungod sa ilang violation," the mayor said.

 Task Force Kalikasan has been created to serve as the lead implementing unit.

 In partnership with the USJ-R law department, Radaza said the Social Eco-tourism Police has been organized in all public elementary and high schools in the city to serve as environment marshals in their respective communities.

 Last May, the city council created the Talima Marine Sanctuary Board that will take charge of the administration, management, and supervision of the Talima Marine Sanctuary. - THE FREEMAN
