Couple arrested for selling shabu

CEBU, Philippines - Two suspected drug pushers in sitio Lakaron, barangay Pitalo, San Fernando were arrested during a buy-bust operation Thursday at 4:30 in the afternoon.

The Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group arrested Clint Bowman, 38, of barangay Sambag 1, Cebu City and his live-in partner Evelyn Sabayton outside their residence.

The suspects allegedly had just arrived home after disposing of 25 grams of shabu worth P750,000 in other barangays.

Right after handing over a small sachet containing shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange for P500, operatives immediately arrested Bowman.

Another one medium pack of shabu worth P1,500 was also seized from Sabayton.

The items seized were taken to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory for analysis.

Both suspects were formerly considered as level one pushers in southern areas but when new pusher Edwin "Liki" Embolodi, 26, of barangay Langtad, Naga entered the illegal drug business, the operation of the couple slowed down.

When Embolodi, who shot PO1 Antonio Icalina in the knees two months ago, was arrested by the Provincial Intelligence Branch, the surveillance on the couple continued. (FREEMAN)
