Police, private sector get kudos for concern for the environment

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza lauded the other day the police and the private sector for their efforts in protecting the environment.

The city mayor said the protection and preservation of environment is not only the responsbility of the city government but also the people and the different sectors.

The Lapu-Lapu City police office headed by Senior Superintendent Anthony Obenza initiated an underwater and coastal cleanup in barangay Agus. The move is part of the city's program of environmental awareness.

The month of June has been designated as Environment Month and different activities have been lined up.

Among the 200 participants in the activity was Senior Supt. Louie Oppus who joined the underwater cleanup. – (FREEMAN)
