Joavan asks Soc for fuel, allowance

-

CEBU, Philippines - Now that he is a part of the Talisay City Police' anti-crime team, Joavan Fernandez has appealed to his father-mayor for free gasoline and honorarium for the members of the Talisay City Intelligence Bureau (TCIB).

This is what Chief Inspector Eddie Recamara, acting city police chief, aid also in defense to Joavan who is still being criticized despite his attempt to project a different image.

Recamara said Joavan, whom he tapped to become a part of his anti-crime group, has already sent a request to Mayor Socrates Fernandez to provide a two-liter free fuel for every TCIB member who is on duty.

And since the TCIB members who are volunteers that assist the police, Joavan has also appealed to his father to give them allowances.

For the last few weeks, Joavan has worked closely with the TCIB and the police at checkpoints in the evening.

Recamara has invited Joavan in his anti-crime team to keep him busy so as to prevent from doing any more crimes.

Joavan's feeding the city's malnourished children and helping run the mayor's projects for the poor were Cebu City Police Office Director Ramon Melvin Buenafe idea. Buenafe now acts as Joavan's "big brother."

And despite his zero crime for the last weeks, many still believe what Joavan has been showing to the public is temporary.

But Recamara would like to believe otherwise, and asked the naysayers to give the man a chance.

"Ang tawo duna may pagbag-o, nganong dili man nato hatagan og chance?" said Recamara. (FREEMAN)
