8 men arrested for malicious mischief

CEBU, Philippines - Eight persons were arrested yesterday for allegedly destroying a house in Mandaue City two years ago.

Arrested for malicious mischief were Frank Severino, 56, married, Virgilio Tarion, 46, single, Pablo Torion, 46, single, Gerardo Ligan, 39, single, Melvin Maranga, 45, married, Celestino Wahing, 36, single, Louie Maranga, 37, married, and Wilson Maranga, 33, married.

Investigation and Detective Management Bureau chief P/Insp. Ramil Morpos said somebody called his office to say where the eight suspects were staying.

Morpos said the accused were allegedly all hired by a certain Maxilinda Maranga in December 2009 to demolish the house of Trinidad Maranga somewhere in Mandaue City.

The suspects said they were not aware that a case involving the house was yet to be decided by the court.

Judge Rogelio Lucmayon of the MTCC branch 1 in Mandaue City issued the warrants of arrest. – (FREEMAN)
