Lapu-Lapu "Kadaugan Street Party" starts tonight
CEBU, Philippines - Starting at 7 p.m. today until 3 a.m of May 1, a portion of Manuel L. Quezon Highway, starting from the Old Mactan-Mandaue Bridge up to Marcelo Fernan Bridge, will temporarily be closed to traffic to give way to the "Kadaugan Street Party."
Lapu-Lapu City Councilor Harry Don Radaza, chairman of this first street party, said a traffic advisory was furnished to the different business and industrial establishments especially those based inside the Mactan Export Processing Zone, Mactan Cebu International Airport and other establishments in the city of Lapu-Lapu.
He said the objective of the advisory is to make vehicular traffic more efficient in view of the rerouting of all vehicles.
Vehicles coming from the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge must observe the normal flow of traffic in going to their destination.
Last April 27, the city held the reenactment of the "Kadaugan sa Mactan" following a weeklong celebration, to be culminated by the street party.
A car show, dance showdown, tricycle contest, live band concerts, and other exciting and historical activities will be held starting at 7 p.m. today until May 1 at 3:00 a.m.
Competing in the "Kadaugan Street Party Rampada" are contingents Tribu Quiotanon of Barangay Quiot, Pardo, Cebu City, Pusok-Latino Nitivo of Barangay Pusok, LetshareTV, Jermany, Evo Dance Company of Barangay Basak, Pajo of Barangay Pajo, Poblacion of Barangay Poblacion, Babag Dance Troop of Barangay Babag, Gun-ob of Barangay Gun-ob, Maribago of Barangay Maribago, Punta Engaño of Barangay Punta Engaño, Buaya of Barangay Buaya, Bankal of Barangay Bankal, Viva Imperial of Imperial Palace Water Park, Shangri-La of Shangrila Mactan Hotel & Spa, Looc of barangay Looc, Mactan of Barangay Mactan and Pajac of Brangay Pajac.
