CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) has reinforced its security measures in preparation for the observance of the Lenten season.
MCPO director Noel Gillamac yesterday said all policemen are ready to act starting today until Monday next week when most people are expected to return to the city after a vacation in the provinces.
Gillamac said 30 police personnel from the SWAT will be detailed at the North Bus Terminal.
He said people who are going to the provinces will have to line up before boarding a bus since bags will be inspected.
Seat reservations have been suspended and dispatchers who reserve seats for a fee will be arrested.
Gillamac said he has advised police stations chiefs to men to churches and the Traffic Division and Traffic Efficiency Enforcement Management (TEAM) to closely watch processions.
He police assistance desks will be put up piers 7 and 8, and checkpoints at the Ouano wharf, the Labogon wharf, and the Looc wharf. – (FREEMAN)
