CEBU, Philippines - A balut vendor received commendation from barangay Ibabao captain Carmelino del Mar for turning over to the barangay hall a wallet he found yesterday morning.

Eduardo Coritao, 35, a balut vendor who resides in Purok Mangga in barangay Umapad, Mandaue City turned over a wallet which contained P5,520, a driver's license, and identification cards.

The wallet is owned by a certain Casero Noel Macachor who resides in the same barangay.

Coritao said he found the wallet Friday while on his bicycle peddling his wares along SB Cabahug Street in barangay Ibabao.

After a simple turnover yesterday, Del Mar and Macachor both thanked Coritao.

Del Mar said it is rare nowadays to hear a person returning such a thing to its owner.
