CEBU, Philippines - Prosecutor Napoleon Alburo appeared in court yesterday to testify to the validity of the affidavit of desistance filed by a man who earlier had filed a case of robbery against the son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez.
Alburo told the court Raymond Paran signed the affidavit voluntarily.
“Ako tong kabubut-on ang pagpirma sa affidavit of desiststance kay di ko gustog samok,” Paran said.
Regional Trial Court Judge Gilbert Moises said the motion to dismiss the case filed by Joavan will be submitted for resolution. Paran’s message to Joavan Fernandez, the adopted son of the mayor states: “Van, hinaut unta kun unsa man imung gibuhat nako sauna dili na unta nimu buhaton sa uban.”
However, Paran also claimed he is withdrawing his case against the mayor’s son because he doesn’t want problems.
Had Joavan threatened him? Paran said, “No, were friends.”
The case stemmed from the allegation that Joavan pointed a gun at Paran last December 15 and that Joavan allegedly did not pay for the soft drinks he had ordered. –(FREEMAN)
