Mandaue college to hire 30 additional teachers

- Flor Z. Perolina -

CEBU, Philippines - To cope up with the increasing number of its students, the Mandaue City College which is under the administration of Dr. Susana Cabahug will be hiring 30 additional teachers to work full time.

Cabahug said applicants should make sure they have a Master's degree.

Applicants will also undergo a thorough review of their credentials by the Personnel and Selection board.

MCC is also scouting for a new school administrator this year because Cabahug said she is already too old to remain in her position.

At present, the teachers of the school were hired as interim personnel and do not enjoy the benefits regular teachers do.

The school has only four full time teachers and 10 are part-time teachers but are qualified to become regular teaching staff of the school.

But Cabahug said these teachers will have to apply if they intend to become regular teachers.

After six years of existence, the school saw its first graduate last March of 13 students wherein five of them came from the other MCC headed by its beleaguered president Paulus Cañete.

The school has a total of 429 enrollees for school year 2010-2011 and the number of students is expected to rise this June.

While the city government continue to look for an ideal location for the school, the MCC at present is utilizing some of the vacant rooms of the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex while improvised classrooms have been built on the same site. (FREEMAN)
