Blue guard flees after shooting scavenger

CEBU, Philippines - The police are looking for a security guard who shot a scavenger outside the perimeter fence of a well-known subdivision in Lapu-Lapu City Sunday afternoon.

Frederick Aguylo, 42, a security guard employed by the SS7 Security Services Corp. based in Cebu City has been reported missing; his service gun has yet to be turned over.

He had allegedly shot 18-year-old Jomar Ponce of barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City.

Homicide said Ponce and his 4-year-old cousin were looking for plastic materials outside the perimeter fence of Aldea del Sol Subdivision in barangay Bangkal Sunday afternoon when shot in his butt.

Ponce’s family is willing to amicably settle the matter with the security guard provided he shoulders his medical expenses.
