CEBU, Philippines - In reaction to a statement made by Consolacion town Mayor Teresa Alegado regarding the rewiring of the municipal hall building, a Visayan Electric Company official clarified yesterday her company only installs power meters but does not install electrical wiring in houses, and private and public buildings.
Ethel Natera said the installation of electrical wiring is the responsibility of building owners.
In the case of the municipal hall of Consolacion, the municipal government will have to hire electricians to do this, she said.
Earlier, Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado said she will ask the Visayan Electric Company to install new electrical wiring in all offices at the municipal hall.
In a talk with The FREEMAN, Alegado said what she meant was for her electricians to coordinate with VECO officials in the installation.
Alegado said the electrical wiring at the municipal hall was made several years ago yet, and the building being old needs rewiring although the town is contemplating constructing a new municipal hall building. (FREEMAN)
