Hospital guard catches "thief"
CEBU, Philippines - The security guard of the Eversley Child Sanitarium and Hospital arrested a man for allegedly stealing the personal belongings of student nurses.
The students were Marjorie Pulvera, 19, taking up nursing at the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu-Mandaue City, and companion Nikki Yuson, 18, of Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.
The security guard had noticed two men hurriedly leaving the premises of the hospital, bringing shoulder bags with them.
The security guard said he noticed the two men were not hospital workers or relatives of patients.
One of the suspected robbers escaped.
Archel Abasolo, 20, of barangay Jagobiao was turned over to the Basak police station. Cohort Jake Tampo, 18, escaped.
Police recovered the bags of Pulvera and Yuson.
Pulvera's bag contained an IPOD worth P15,000, a phone worth P7,000, school uniform, make-up kit, and identification cards.
While Yuson's bag contained a blood pressure kit and her medical textbook.
Abasolo is now detained at the Basak police station.
