CEBU, Philippines - Mayor Paz Radaza, in reaction to a series of robberies in the city, is asking the police to be more visible in crime-prone areas and intelligence gathering intensified.
Radaza's statement came following the killing of a 51-year-old woman for refusing to hand over his shoulder to robbers in barangay Gun-ob last week.
Lapu-Lapu police said Maria Luisa Galatin, who resides in barangay Bankal, was shot in the eye by a man who was traveling with her on a tricycle.
The man shot her when Galatin refused to give up her bag.
However, the man was arrested by the police a day after.
