Consolacion gets tough with realtors

CEBU, Philippines - One of the conditions the municipal council of Consolacion will impose on all applicants for subdivision development is a master plan for drainage.

The council has decided on this requirement to prevent flooding in the future.

Councilor Illuminado Alin, chairman of the Municipal Council committee on land use, said the council has learned that some existing subdivisions in the town have no good drainage systems of their own.

"Tinguha nato nga dili na kita makasinati sa samang problema sa umaabot nga mga adlaw," said Councilor Alin.

Last week, Mayor Teresa Alegado called representatives of subdivisions to a meeting to discuss the problem with drainage. (FREEMAN)
