Man shot dead in Lapu-Lapu
CEBU, Philippines - A 23-year-old man was found dead in a secluded dumping area in purok Mangga, barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.
The man was identified as Nelson Codia alias "Kagid," a native of barangay Kawit, Medellin town, Cebu, currently residing at barangay Pusok.
Police said the man was found dead at around 6:00 a.m. yesterday by a certain Ronilo Sumalinog who is a resident of the place. Sumalinog said he was about to relieve himself when he saw Codia on the ground.
SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as of the Homicide Section said that barangay tanods heard gun shots at around 12 midnight.
Codia sustained two gunshot wounds, one on the chest, the other one on the right temple.
Police found two empty shells of .45 caliber, one used lighter, a tin foil, and one empty sachet believed to be containing shabu.
Police said residents and tanods saw no one when they heard the gunshots.
Codia's remains were taken to the Cosmopolitan Funeral Service. (FREEMAN)
