“In a chaotic world, we thought about what ‘effortless’ means now — clothing that frees up space in your mind,” the designer Tory Burch explains. The answer is in her new offerings for summer. While the monsoon has already hit our side of the world, the new Summer Capsule is meant for those sunny afternoons or your trips faraway.
She evolved her brand’s signature silhouettes. Her goddess dresses and tunics come in a micro-mini length. Handbags in all sizes like the crescent bag or Ella Bio tote are molded to rest on the curves of the body, while footwear, like their signature Miller sandal, are constructed entirely of round edges.
Inspired by Tory’s recent trip to Africa, this year’s Summer Capsule is all about neutral tones and earthy textures with a pop of pale blue, just like the clear skies on a day out in the safari, zoomed in for a subdued graphic on their new zebra print.
Select bags and shoes bear the new monogram executed in tonal classic T Monogram shapes, spotted at the Summer Capsule launch on Mikaela Lagdameo and Janina Dizon.
Need a summery bag that’s sturdy enough to handle every weather condition? The T Monogram also comes in a soft woven fabric made to mimic raffia while being pliable and durable.
Burch sums it up: “This collection is designed to be lived in, to move with you, and to instill a sense of lightness and optimism.”
